| Weighted Box cars |
Many boxcars tend to derail when they
are too light. Add a little weight above each bogey by gluing a 10c
coin (South African) to the inside of the chassis. This makes for
better and smoother running. |
| Wheels |
Many newcomers underestimate the
importance of clean wagon wheels, because these wheels are not used
as electrical pickups.
Even wagon wheels should be clean. This will definitely
provide for better operation. Obviously this is not done as often as
with loco wheels, but as soon as you see some kind of build-up on
the wheel, remove the grime with a track rubber or a cleaning agent such as
Goo-Gone. |
