The N Gauge Guild of South Africa
The N Gauge Guild of South Africa is a dedicated club which caters for model train enthusiasts who have limited space. The working scale is 1:160 (or 1:148 if you model British), roughly half the size of HO scale.

The Pretoria Model Train Club
This club has a large HO modular layout which is set up at a technical college over most school holidays. In addition they have a smaller N Scale layout. They hold regular swap meets.

Saturday Afternoon Group
This Johannesburg based informal group meets on Saturdays and visits various members' layouts. Beginners and modelers without layouts are welcome to join.

Hornby Collectors Association
For those interested in Hornby models pre 1964. This group is interested in purchasing second hand Hornby models. They have a 3-rail exhibition layout.

Glow is an informal association of Railway Modelers on the West Rand for advice and help to fellow hobbyists.

Eastrand Model Railway Interest Group (EMRIG)
At time of writing this club has 3 x HO modular layouts permanently erected in a vacant shop in the Northmead Mall in Boksburg. Trains are run for public viewing on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday/Sunday mornings.
